MUSIC AT THE BASILICA, 10th Annual Windfire festival of music in Geelong's Historic churches
The Diversity Concert featuring flute, marimba, vibraphone, organ and clarinet
Passions of Seicento, featuring soprano Roberta Diamond and theorbo player Nicholas Pollock (The theorbo is a stringed instrument of the lute family from the late 16th century Italy. The very long strings give the instrument an extended base range)
Lucky patrons were also treated to a recital by the renowned organist, Ken George, at All Saints. Although only half an hour long, Ken was able to demonstrate almost the full range of the spectacular newly refurbished and expanded church organ (read more on our organ page on this website) at All Saints. We were also honoured by the presence of two other highly respected Geelong-based organists, Tom Healey from St Paul's and Frank De Rosso from St Mary's Basilica, shown in the photo below with Ken. Listen to Ken playing two exemplary organ pieces
